is based from our privately owned nature reserve and Safari Lodge, located in
the bush-veldt, sub tropics and semi-arid region of the Limpopo Province South

program, offering your animal science and related students exposure to the
South African Cattle industry, in a relaxed, educational and working ranch
environment. Shi-awela AG Student
Program is based from our safari lodge and privately owned extensive cattle ranch in the sub tropics and semi-arid region of
the Limpopo Province South Africa. (Average Temp 65 – 70 °F)
Shi-awela Safari cc was established in
1989 and has been catering to the international traveller since conception. Our 10 000 acre property was proclaimed
a Private Nature Reserve in 1965 and we are now approaching 5 generations of conservation
and stewardship. The Ball Family (owners) has a history in stockmanship,
extensive wildlife and cattle ranching, and founded the now nationally popular
Bonsmara Cattle Breeders Society in 1964.

Today, Shi-awela hosts a registered
herd (BALL NGUNI) of indigenous Nguni Cattle www.nguni.info. The Nguni Cattle is a breed of National
Importance, recognized for its economic, social and cultural value. The Nguni breed is renowned for its
fertility, resistance to disease, longevity and good temperament. Our focus is functionally efficiency,
production and holistic management.
